Perth ‘State Of The Art’ Show

Drapht is finally playing in Perth!
The State Of The Art Festival is on Sunday June 3.

The Concert Hall is the location for a massive celebration, showcasing the depth of Western Australian talent with a wide range of styles spread across different stages both indoor and out in stylistically defined ‘sessions’.

Drapht will headline the 8 pm Hip-Hop session supported by Bitter Belief.

Other WA artists performing include Hoodoo Gurus, Eskimo Joe, Sugar Army and Jebediah amongst the 21 artists appearing from 11 am until midnight.

Tickets go on sale May 4, 2012.

Drapht nominated for 2012 APRA Music Awards

Drapht and “Life Of Riley” collaborator Trials have received nominations for the 2012 APRA Music Awards.

Alongside a nod for “Sing It (The Life Of Riley)” as Urban Work of the Year there is a nomination for Breakthrough Songwriter Of The Year for Drapht.

The APRA Awards are presented yearly in recognition of outstanding success as reflected in national and international performances throughout 2011. The ceremony will be in Sydney on May 28.

Drapht wins ARIA Award for Best Urban Album

I am currently still on cloud nine from a couple of weeks ago taking home the ARIA for Best Urban Album. It was my first year in attendance at the ARIAs and I was lucky enough to have been asked to open the ceremony with a performance of Rapunzel which you can watch here. Had some amazing feedback from personalities that have been in the industry for decades, so overall it was a pretty special night. But thanks also goes to you as it’s a culmination of an amazing year that I wouldn’t have got to have without your support, so again thank you.
